The work that my group members have made individually is very close to being done, and everything is starting to come together. Though our idea of crowd sourcing ideas for different videos fell through, thanks to the fact that there aren't any comments left on our Ideas page, we have come up with our own and have been working to complete those by the time we have to present them. So far there is only a little bit more to do on my script for the sitcom I will be filming, and then the actual filming part of it, and finally all I would have to do is edit it together and then my portion of the project will be ready.

This week is more or less the same as last week. The only thing I can really do as of now is to keep working on the script of the sitcom I have been making. That being said, this has been sort of a slow week, in that I haven't been able to work on it too much, only getting about 2 small scenes done. So far it looks like this will be a fun project to record and edit, and I think the other two in my group will have a lot of fun in their involvement.
The team over at Eggplantwizards.weebly.com have decided to split into two "groups" for the project. I am by myself for now because I have a project that I would want to do that is different from the ideas that Jimmy and Aidan want to do, so here I am, doing those. For the next Genius Hour project, I have decided to create a short sitcom episode entitled "Lemons." I am currently writing the script and will be the director of the one-off as soon as I get it finished. That's all for now. Stay popping.
Recording new stuff has officially been started. Jimmy pitched an Idea to me that involved Aidan playing a chromatic scale with his trombone, and Jimmy would edit it together to make a song. I think it would be really cool and while typing this very phrase, I thought about taking the clip for the chromatic scale and making a separate song with my trumpet instead because transposing takes a lot of time and I understand my instrument better. We have also started recording some more stuff recently but it's not in a place where it's ready to be talked about yet.
Though I have been away from my group members because of conflicting issues, I have started a personal project related to editing videos, in order to more familiarize myself to the software I will be using, and to get more ideas based on my new experience. I have been communicating with Jimmy and Aidan, so far we have decided on a schedule and a couple things to record, but the big part of this week was implementing a poll system! now you can submit ideas for us to record, and vote on them(if I understand correctly) and maybe we will make it happen, who knows?
When discussing Genius Hour this week, my group members and I had come up with different ideas for things like skits and stuff that we could record. Some of these ideas were recording parodies of famous movie scenes but with a twist ending. For example, a major Idea we have been tossing around for a while now is like the titanic scene where Jack dies, except he just gets onto the wood plank and lives. Another idea i have had is something like the Matrix scene where Neo dodges the bullets, except he doesn’t and the movie ends. There have been a bit more thrown around but those are some of my favorites so far. Who knows, maybe you will even recognize some of the movies we’re parodying.
This week there wasn't really much that we had done, though I have been brainstorming ideas for future films and things to record. I personally have been looking through a bunch of clips and movies to get ideas of what I could maybe bring to the table was in terms of ideas for things to record, but overall It's been slow because of the amount of homework that I've had over the past week, on top of family things, I haven't really been able to meet up with my group members to get anything productive done.
After the second week of the Genius Hour project assigned to us, my group finally has a tangible product. After a week a recording, we ended up with a 30 minute video for the modernization project of Oedipus Rex. This video was the first one that Jimmy had been lead editor on and so it was a new experience for him. I personally got more experience has a filmmaker in general and it was nice to see the progress that we had made along the way.
The process of filming has officially been started! After a couple weeks of brainstorming Ideas, Aidan, Jimmy and I have all come up with a few things to film. It seems like we have all had fallen into certain roles. Jimmy is stepping up as the "director", Aidan is the cameraman, and I am taking the role of the main actor, seeing as how the other spots are already filled. Today we decided on some ideas for the Oedipus Rex modernization project, and started putting some of the ideas together. We still have to work on getting a script together for the video, but overall I am satisfied with the amount of progress we were able to get done.
