hello there. I have finished the video for Aidan playing the trombone, I will now work on fine tuning the video, as some of the notes are louder than they should be, some are out of tune, and I would like to make the video presentable. but i have all of the video put together. Isaiah has come close to finishing the script of a sitcom that he is writing. We have also decided on a video which I will green screen, and then give to Aidan to do whatever he wants to the video.

hello there my fellow genius hour people. this week, we got a fair bit done. I am 2/3 of the way done with my video of Aidan and I playing the iconic theme from sonic mania, Flying battery zone Act 1. I have run into a fair bit of issues with this though. one of which was that the bass part didn't quite line up with the rest of the song, so I will have to revise that when I have time. I have also had a problem with the editing software deciding that it didn't want to work anymore, but I got that quickly fixed with a simple google search. I will put a link to the video in the near future.
alright! so, I have started working on a part of the project where I had Aidan play a few notes for me, and I will edit those notes into a song. I was inspired to do this from this video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_r6j9rD_j5I ) (copy and paste). the song I will be using is from a game called sonic maina, It is the flying battery zone act 1 theme ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJrHUbgEj24 ).
I have run into one problem with this so far, I don't have all the notes I need! and I couldn't re record those notes due to not having my trombone and Aidan being busy this weekend. we are going to get everything re-recorded by tomorrow, and I should have this portion of the video done my the end of the week. ok! so, this spring break week gave us lots of time to record things and get stuff done. Aidan and I have started a new concept for our video, a "one man band" so to speak. I recorded Aidan playing a chromatic scale ( basically all of the notes) for trombone. with this, we plan on editing those notes in such a way that it will become a piece of music to listen / enjoy. one problem that this created, however, is that of what song do we use? so, over the break, I thought of some good ideas, we needed something simple, yet complex enough to actually be enjoyable, what could we do? I decided on using the "flying battery act 1 theme" from sonic mania, as it is a simple song that is fun to listen to. this however, created another problem. you see. I found the sheet music, but it was designed for piano. so some bits were also in treble clef. so, on Thursday and Friday, I transposed the music into trombone music. now we can read the music, all that we have left for this idea is to actually execute the idea.
we have started recording some skits as well! one of our original ideas was to have sort of a "training montage" of Aidan getting better at super smash brothers. we have recorded some of the scenes for that, allowing for more editing to take place. I have also personally started recording some game play for Aidan to edit, but unfortunately, it all got corrupted. i'm not entirely sure how, but something went wrong with the screen recorder I use, and because of that, the videos could not be played. hey, hows it going my fellow people. we have some updates on the Genius Hour Project. we have decided to start recording this weekend, and over spring break. we have also set up a Poll that anyone can go to! in this poll, you can leave a comment having an idea that you would like for us to record, we will pick some of our favorites / top picks and add those into our video. of course, sense this project is about the editing process, we will be recording that as well. now, one problem that we may run into in the spring break portion is that we all have different spring break schedules, so because of this, it may be difficult to finish some recording. another issue would be the files getting corrupted, or if something of that nature goes wrong, but we will hit that road block when we get to it!
well hello there! I didn't see you there, we have come up with even more skits to do, as well as a new concept to record. us preforming something for the big band era. like making our own big band video, like something from the youtuber insaneintherainmusic. We could write our own music or preform a classic jazz piece like moanin' or In the mood. We are going to hopefully start recording some of the skits this week / weekend. One thing that I am personally worried about if we will get this done at a consistent schedule. we like to have fun with our projects. but that fun can go to an extent of where we don't get things done. However, I don't think this will be too big of an issue as we don't a an exact rubric to follow. I am excited to see Aidan start to edit, as I feel like it will be very funny. I plan on showing him the ropes of editing, such as cropping, audio management, chroma keying etc.
alright, so, the group and I have started to come up with skit ideas for our video. we plan on doing a few things, such as remaking iconic movie scenes, skits, and just our lives in general. this video is going to mainly be focused on humor. so we're not going to take a popular scene and just reenact it, we are going to """"""""""""""""""IMPROVE""""""""""""""""""""" it. we plan on doing this by being ourselves while recording the scenes. there will probably not be a blooper reel in our video this time, as the whole video is kind of one giant blooper in essence.
I have started the editing Process, we have the Prologue, scene 1, and half of scene 2 recorded. I have been Editing for a good 2 hours now, hopefully this is will turn out good and wont corrupt. that's my worst fear for the project. If the files corrupt, we will have to re-record, and that's not good for anyone.
OK, so today, we started by finishing our modernization script. this took a good amount of time, but I'm happy with the result. next, I invited Isaiah and Aidan to my house so we could record some scenes for it. we got the intros out of the way and decided to call it a day from there.
so, I've started setting up the timeline for the scenes we have recorded so far. this is what it looks like. we still have 4 other scenes to add so that going to be time consuming.
